He was the loving husband of Lila for 69 years. Beloved father of Gail Reyna, Wallace William (Kimberly) Hill Jr, Kim (Robert) Mazur, and Jeri (Tad) Ruggeri. Proud grandfather of Cameron, Danielle, Bradley, Derek, Marco, Erica, John, Nico, Bobby, and Mario. Cherished great-grandfather of ten.
Wallace was preceded in passing by his parents, as well as his brothers Gerald and Michael.
Wallace was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan. His upbringing on the family's farm fostered a love of horses and country music. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War, working tirelessly to transport supplies and as the ship's barber. His career as a barber continued long after his return home, finally retiring at 85 years old.
He was an avid golfer and took great pride in tending to his garden and lawn. His family could count on him to fix anything around the house, he was a jack of all trades. He loved cooking, even picking up some of Lila's recipes, such as her pasta sauce, when he hosted a spaghetti dinner fundraiser benefitting the Northville VFW. He was a great dancer and sang as a baritone in his barbershop quartet group. Most importantly, he was passionate about spending time with his wife and family. Some of their most cherished memories are those spent at family gatherings and cookouts. He will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, with a memory sharing service at 7:00 PM. An in state will occur Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville, MI 48167, followed by a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 AM. Wallace will be laid to rest in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
