Timothy James Mason

Timothy James Mason, age 68, of Livonia, Michigan went to be with his Lord on Monday June 3, 2019. His wife Darlene by his side. Timothy was born July 6, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Lillian and James Mason.

Timothy was well known within the Warrendale neighborhood in Detroit. A friend of many throughout the years. Timothy was a lifetime “car guy” and motorsport enthusiast even helping with his father’s Nascar race team (#87) in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. He started a career at Conrail looking to provide for his family this transforming into his own ventures with Dearborn Steel Tubing. He met the love of his life Darlene, who lived in the same neighborhood of his childhood home, when she didn’t have a car and needed a ride to work. Timothy delivered and ended up lifelong partners traveling to many places, and races well before getting married in 1985 (married 34 years). Timothy was instrumental in teaching his two sons how to be gentlemen. He led by example demonstrating that loyalty to family and friends is paramount, loyalty to the America a certain, outward kindness will return exponentially, manual labor is beneath no one, and education should be pursued and cherished. This definitely carried over to his two boys who continue to live by these principles. He also was fond of his animals including Kali “The Beagle”, Sylvester “The Old Man”, and Sophie “The Shy Feline”.

Timothy is survived by his spouse, Darlene Mason, his two sons Kevin (Kaitlin) Mason, Steven (Dana) Mason, and brother Daniel (Donna) Mason. Timothy was preceded in death by his father James Mason, mother Lillian Mason, brother James Mason, and sister Nancy Mason.

A visitation for Timothy will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152 with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. A funeral in state viewing will be on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at St Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48152. An entombment will occur at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
