Stephen Schultz passed away on November 17, 2015 in his Northville, Michigan home after a valiant struggle with Parkinson’s. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline for 59 years. Proud father of Stephen (Karen) Schultz, Susan (Brad) Draper, Nancy (Paul) Hickey, and Kristen (Steve) Berry. Cherished grandfather of Max and Kelly Schultz, Kayla Zebrowksi (Hickey), Nolan, Audrey, and Shannon Hickey, Reed, Evan, and Chloe Berry. He is survived by dear sister Phyllis (Frank) Munoz, and several nieces and nephews. Steve served as a sergeant in the Army as an artillery instructor, and joined the Ford Motor Company personnel department soon after his service. He specialized in recruiting and management succession planning for thousands of careers in his 35 year career at the automaker. Steve was a proud alumnus of Wayne State University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration. After retirement, Steve enjoyed vacationing on Marco Island and travel excursions throughout Europe. He volunteered his time for the church and community. Grandpa Schultz enjoyed his grandchildren thoroughly, always making time for his growing family. Steve enjoyed testing his family and friends with old movie trivia, math and word story problems, adding to his personal library of favorite authors, and Tiger Baseball. The voice of the Tigers, Ernie Harwell, gave the introduction at Steve’s Ford retirement party, giving the play-by-play of Steve’s last at bat at the plate. He will be lovingly remembered for his charitable spirit, tireless energy, and enjoying the art of conversation.
Friends may visit Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia on November 20th from 2-8 pm. Funeral Mass Saturday November 21st at 9:30 am at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Road, Livonia. Friends may visit the church beginning at 9:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation or Beaumont Hospice Foundation.
