Roy R. Houser

Roy was the loving husband of Leona of 66 years. He is survived by his 4 children; Karen (Gary) Schmidt, Michael (Marsha), Gary (Sharon) and Kurt (Mireille), 4 grandchildren; Lauren (Kevin) Sutton, Bethany (Jason) Scott, Justin and Tiffany, 4 great grandchildren; Kendall, Garrett, Breslin and Hannah, 3 sisters; Julie, Vivie and Leah and 3 brothers; Paul, Phillip and Noel. Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Julia and youngest sister Amy.

Roy enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and being with his friends and family. Roy will be remembered for his sense of humor and his grammatical skills. He was a Seabee in the US Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was born and grew up in Bristol, PA where he attended and graduated at the age of 16 from Bristol High School.

Roy married his wife Leona in Garden City, MI on May 3, 1947.

He served as the President of the St. Paul’s congregation in the 70’s and served on the board of directors for Glen Eden Cemetery for many years.

Visitation will take place at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. Livonia, MI 48152 on Monday, May 20 from 3-8. Funeral Service will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 17810 Farmington Rd. Livonia on Tuesday, May 21 at 11 am and in state at 10 am. Burial will be at Glen Eden Cemetery following the service.
