Robert Peter Petroff

Beloved husband of Julie Petroff. Loving father of Rebecca (James) Wrock, Danielle (Marty) Beer, and Michael (Sarah) DeMaiolo. Dear grandfather of Blake Beer, Emilie Wrock, Alessandra DeMaiolo, and Dominic DeMaiolo.

Robert was a graduate of the University of Michigan and retired from DTE Energy after 30 years of service in underground electrical line design. A passionate Michigan football fan and decades-long season ticket holder, he had the special experiences of attending Michigan’s National Championship winning game in 2024, several bowl games, and away game trips to nearly every Big Ten school. Robert had a special place in his heart for animals and was especially popular with his daughters’ dogs and the wildlife that he dutifully fed in his backyard. He was an accomplished bowler and loved classic rock music, especially the Beatles. The time he spent with his cousins learning about family history and reminiscing about childhood memories in Marianna, Pennsylvania, meant a great deal to him. He enjoyed regularly attending Cody High School (’76) reunions and local “cruise” events with classic muscle cars. Most of all, Robert cherished the time he spent with his family.

Robert is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Irene Petroff, brother Dan, for whom Robert was a devoted caregiver for many years, and sister Judy. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Friends are welcome from 4:00-8:00pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home on Friday, April 11 with Funeral Service held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 12.

A private entombment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Robert’s family suggests memorial contributions to your local humane society or animal rescue organization, the National Association for Down Syndrome, or Breakthrough T1D.
