#10 Don't let go of the inner tube in the Kern River.

#9 When it's over 100 degrees, walk slow, stay in the shade and drink lots of water.

We worked hard, had a lot of fun, ate some great food, made some good friends and filtered a lot of water.  

It's been my privilege to work and learn from the Godfather of walnut shell filters.

Mr. Kozar always had a smile when he would see me.  As Matt's friend, I'll always remember Mr. Kozar's love of sports and how he was always present at these events.  When I think of Mr. Kozar, I think of Michigan football, hockey coach, gardener, chemist, Wayne State, the pea green Snowman boat, huge fisherman and a family man.  I'm sad for his passing and your family's grief.  Josh Clark and family.

John, I wish there was something I could say or do, but unfortunately your Dad left us too soon.  He was a good man, as is evident by your ethics, and he will be missed. Dear Jeanette, John, Matt, and the entire Kozar family,

I feel extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to spend so much time with such a great man.  His smile, his wit, his character, and most of all his guidance, made him stand head and shoulders above the rest.  Nothing can replace the man, but as it is said, "Time heals all wounds".

There are so many memories I have of our time in the oil fields with guys like Brett Mendez, Bill Bloomfield, Joe Haligowski and many others.  I believe I can speak for all of us, that we are all better in life for being touched by Bob's wisdom and  guidance.  God bless the Kozar family.  Always know that Bob will always be with you on the boat fishing, in the garden, and eating a great meal.

I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people in the world.  I had this great man as a colleague, mentor, fellow Maize and Blue fan, and most of all as a friend.

I write again because my first entry disappeared.  I am very saddened by your loss.  Bob was such a wonderful neighbor.  He had a dry quick wit that just made everyone laugh.  He was fun and smart and great to talk with.  He had a kind heart, and enjoyed the beautiful simple pleasures of everyday life.  I can still see him reading his paper always at the same spot in the kitchen. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Bob.  Bob was a permanent fixture at the Suburban hockey ice arena cheering on his grandsons.  We enjoyed many hockey practices, games, and tournaments with him.  The rink will not be the same without him. Our prayers are with you Jeanette, Matt, Ben, Alex and your family.

I first met Bob when I had his boys in my science class at Holmes Middle School.  Bob's son, John, was setting up a fishing display in my class one day when  I expressed how much I liked to fish.  John immediately said, "You can go fishing with my dad if you want."  That began my time of spending countless hours with Bob fishing on Lake Michigan and Lake Erie.  You could not help but  like Bob.  He was full of stories, fun to be with, loved to take walks after a day on the lake, and couldn't wait to get back in the boat the next morning.  Bob was a wealth of information.  I once asked Bob's son, John, a question in science class that stumped him. My suggestion  was to get some books and look up the answer.  John's idea was to go home and ask his dad.  John said, "My dad is like a walking encyclopedia."   

Bob loved his garden and flowers.  He was always buying special tomato seeds, starting them indoors, and nurturing them until they became ready for picking.  Many of his roses ended up at our house.  Bob would always say, "Take some roses home for Maureen."

Bob will  be missed, but his memory will continue to live through the many pictures of our fishing trips and the time we spent together.

Bob was such a wonderful man and a great friend. He always had a smile on his face.  He had a zest for life and enjoyed it fully.  The stories he told were unforgettable and so enjoyable.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeanette and their family at this sad time.  He will truly be missed.

Doug and I are in shock.  I can't believe we won't be able to chat with Bob after mass on Sundays.  Jeanette, you are in our thoughts and prayers, and please know that you can call on us for anything.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.  Really enjoyed being with Bob and Jeanette, had many great times with smiles all around.  Lots of stories of your travels and experiences brightened our times together.  You will be missed.
