Phyllis V. Raak

Phyllis Virginia Raak was born on January 19, 1920 in Jackson, Michigan. She was the first child born to the late George and Myrtle Schwemle. Phyllis passed away on March 16, 2016 in Plymouth, Michigan at the age of 96.

Phyllis was always active. She worked for many years in the Education system and following her retirement there continued working part time until she was 80. Along with her husband John she was an avid crafter and active member of St. James United Church of Christ in Dearborn. A long time member there she was a member of the Women's Fellowship. Phyllis was also long time member of the women's organization P.E.O.

Phyllis was the loving wife of the late John. Cherished mother of Patricia (Otto) Hinzmann. Proud grandmother of Gregory (Christine) Hinzmann and Holly (Brian) Dittenber and great-grandmother of Gabriella Dittenber. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Phyllis' family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday March 20, 2016 from 3-8 pm and on Monday March 21, 2016 from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11 am at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
