Maurice was born in Detroit on February 25, 1925 to John and Hilma Johnson. During World War II he proudly served in the United States Navy. In April 1947 he married his beloved wife LaVerna. Maurice supported his family by working as a quality control engineer for Ford Motor Company. Upon his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, camping, photography and tinkering around with whatever he could find.
Maurice is survived by his loving wife of 64 years LaVerna, his cherished children Eric (Nancy), Susan (Eric) Nylen, Karen (Tom) Humphrey, Nancy (Harvey) Lobel and David (Mary), 15 beloved grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Maurice's family will receive friends on Thursday December 29, 2011 from 3-8 pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday December 30, 2011 at 12 pm at the funeral home.
