Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls in this heartbreaking time. I wish there was something we could say that would make your pain less, and offer you some comfort, but at times like this, there is nothing we can offer but our thoughts and prayers.
Both you and Dee Dee were such special people that it was always a joy for us to be around you guys and the girls. 
Suz wanted so badly to be able to see her this weekend to try to tell her how much she meant to her over the years, but it just wasn't meant to be I guess. But somehow, I think Dee Dee knew, and hope that you do too.  Again Doug, our deepest sympathies, and hug those girls for me.....

Our hearts go out to you during this difficult time. Although we all knew this day was coming, it still arrived much too early, and I don't think that you're ever prepared for the depth of the sadness it brings. Suz and I do take comfort in knowing your mom was able to make it "home", but it's of little consolation, when you lose one so special. I know that we will always cherish the memories of the times we spent together with your family. 
I'm sure the road ahead will bring each of you many ups and downs, but know that your mom's love and her presence will always be with you, so be sure to be kind and gentle with yourselves, and with each other, and hopefully, knowing that you're in the hearts, and thoughts of others, at this time will help each of you through your sadness.
Girls.......... hold on tight to your mom's memories, she is right there with you, watching you, and probably thinking that maybe she did a pretty good job with the three of you after all.....I know we do!

Maureen, I hope you know how very much I admire you. You brought up 3 beautiful and smart daughters. Your never ending love and giving towards your grandchildren. Hey Doug,
Where has life gone? It sems only yesterday that we were double dating in my moms car. Hockey practice at zero dark thirty. A thousand trips to Canada. You and Maureen were the main constant. You both honored me as being best man in your wedding-thank you. Maureen is truly in a better place now but its hard for the rest of us to come to grips with it. Hang tough Doug, my love and prayers are with you. If you need any help with the Nevada house while still back in Michigan just give me a call.
