Mary Lou Paton

Mary Lou Paton, age 94, of Plymouth, Michigan passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. Beloved mother of Kathryn (Robert) Baynes, Patricia Collins, and Janet (Les) Barker. Proud grandmother of Bryan (Jill) Baynes, Greg (Janelle) Baynes, Ben (Flor) Barker, Joe (Jennifer) Barker, and Jessica (Shane) Irgens. Dear great-grandmother of 13.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by loving husband of 59 years, Harold "John". She was also preceded by grandchildren Jennifer and Jeff Collins, parents Hugh and Mathilda Reid, two brothers Charles Reid and Hugh Reid Jr., and sister Joan Bundy.

Mary Lou spent the majority of her working career as a registered nurse. She also served as a secretary at NorthRidge Church in Plymouth, Michigan for many years. Mary Lou and John served faithfully for many years in various departments of Temple Baptist Church (NorthRidge).

Mary Lou was passionate about traveling, she visited all 50 states and many countries, some as part of her church missionary group. Throughout her life, she gained many friends from all ages and walks of life. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking, and baking.

A visitation for Mary Lou will be held Tuesday, March 12, from 3:00-8:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152, featuring a Nurse Honor Guard service at 7:00pm. Friends and family will continue to visit Wednesday, March 13, from 10:00-11:00am, before a funeral service begins at 11:00am. A livestream of the service will be available.
