Mary Victoria “Vicky” King, 77, passed away at home on October 4, 2021. Vicky was born on April 18, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, the second of four children born to Ludwig and Mary (nee: Frank) Gebnar. As a youth, Vicky participated in Hungarian Folk Dancing and at Southwestern High School, she sang in the choir. After graduation from Southwestern, Vicky received her certification to work as a legal secretary. After marriage to her husband James, Vicky continued to work part time as a legal secretary while raising her children, Debra and Jerry. Later in life, Vicky drove a school bus for the Crestwood School District for many years. With her husband and many friends, Vicky enjoyed golfing, cards, bingo, casino trips, dining out and travel; including cruises and trips to the Western United States visiting relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Brian) Stein; and son Jerry (Heather) King; siblings Ed (Connie) Gebnar, John (Sandy) Gebnar and Frances (Brian-deceased) McGuckin. Grandchildren, Michael, Megan and Connor Stein, Abby Estes, Leah and Andrea King. Her beloved James preceded Vicky in death not quite a year ago.
Friends may visit Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 West Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Fr. Thomas Belczak presiding.
