Marion was the proud Father of Michael (Kathy) , Sharon and Stephen, loving Grandfather to Kristin, Danielle, Lauren, Michele and Adam Wysocki.
His family was always first and foremost the center of his life. He was actively involved with his children during their formative years at St. Scholastic Parish in Detroit, as he continued throughout their lives—and the lives of his grandchildren. Always seated in the front rows of baseball games, dance recitals, swimming meets and school plays, Marion lovingly shared life lessons in a gentle constructive manner with a twinkle in his eyes.
Marion was dedicated to his country, having served in the Navy upon the destroyer escort USS Liddle during WWII. At age 19, his heroism was recognized with the Silver Star for gallantry in action during the Battle of Ormoc Bay. A bricklayer by trade, he was a master builder by disposition—building his family’s life on a strong foundation of faith, family, patriotism, a strong work ethic and humor. Marion loved to laugh, especially with his family. He retired from Burton Brothers after 35 years of service in 1991spanning a masonry craft career of 65 years.
In his late 80s, Marion developed acute dementia; however he never lost the essence of his stalwart nature and gentle humor. His deep blue eyes will forever twinkle in the memory of his family, friends and those whose life he touched.
Marion is pre-deceased by his father Stanley, mother Cornelia and sister Emily and brothers Stanley, Ted, Ben and Tony.
