Margaret Marie Swider

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She thrived during the time she spent raising her three children and later found much joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a gentle and loving presence in the lives of those around her. She was a great listener and was always ready with a smile.

Margaret met her the love of her life, her husband Ernest Swider, at work, and the two were married in 1959. They spent 36 wonderful years together before Ernest passed away in 1995. Her love for him remained strong throughout her life, and she often spoke fondly of their time together.

Margaret was a parishioner at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church in Canton. She saw joy in simple pleasures, the beauty of nature, good conversation, dining out, and her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends was evident to all who knew her. Her family was always her greatest joy and priority.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Helen Yurich; her husband, Ernest; and her many siblings.

Mary Barath(Steve), Kay Lasyca (Ed) Frances Sokolowski (Wally), Joe Yurich (Donna), John Yurich (Mary) , Frank Yurich. She is survived by her children: Susan (Dean) Bolton, Laura (Rob) Mandle, and Jeffrey (Tracey) Swider; her grandchildren: Jessica Harris, Eric (Olivia) Puschak, Allie (Andrew) Millington, Julia (Dylan) Sosbee, Michael (Julianna Robles) Mandle, Joseph (Isabelle Ansara) Swider, Sara Swider, and Nick Swider; and her great-grandchildren: Raylan Harris, Remy Harris, and Oliver Puschak. She is also survived by her siblings-in-law, Marylee (Phil) Kortas and Cliff (Sharon) Swider, along with many. many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Margaret’s family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Memory Sharing service at 7:00 pm, on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 am on Monday, April 7, 2025, and will be In State from 10:00 am until the time of mass at 10:30 am, at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church, 555 S. Lilley Road, Canton, Michigan 48188.
