Mrs. Ort was my 7th grade English teacher at Nobel Jr. High School in 1972. I believe it was her first  or second year of teaching. She was quite young as i remember She was my favorite teacher. She gave me a lot of confidence about my writing (and I learned  what an ort was.) she gave me a lot of attention and had a wonderful sense of humor. I have never forgotten her or the change she made in my life.  I looked her up on the internet and sadly found this obituary.  My condolences to her family. She was a special person. 

Today my wife and I paid respects to this wonderful lady.  She was a special teacher, and mother. I had the pleasure of teaching her two children, Meghan and Alex.  The family will be in prayer and thought in the difficult days ahead.            Fred Mack

Very saddened to hear of Mrs. Ort's passing.  She was a favorite teacher of so, so many parents and students. I remember such encouraging comments on Jimmy's class assignments. Well, I'm giving one of your regular comments back to you...Hooray for you, Mrs. Ort. You made such a difference to so many.  You will be missed.

"More, More" Monahan--to some wonderful memories of WMU and Chi Omega.
Some of our innocent times/exploits are priceless.  You always did more than you had to, always had strong values and convictions, always spread your happy thoughts to all, married the love of your life and continuously raised and adored you son and daughter.  Thru the years we talked periodically for updates on our sisters and I don't think I ever called you anything except "More".  I just got off the phone with Cheri White in FLA. and we regaled and laughed at how important you were in our lives.  I am sorry for your loss Rick, Alex, and Meghan.  She gave it her all and will be truly remembered.

It is so sad to lose a mother. She was such a special lady. My daughter Ashley had her during the 9/11 tragedy. She helped her class to try and understand the loss. She had them reach out to first responders in NYC. We still have the letter they sent back to her class. Sorry for loss

I am so saddened to hear the news of Linda's passing. I was blessed to have taught with Linda at Riley. She was the best storyteller ever and she had the most contagious laugh I've ever heard. Linda was so incredibly proud of her family. Rick, Meghan, and Alex- Linda talked about you all the time! 
Bottom line- Linda's presence made everything better. The world lost a good one, but heaven definitely gained an angel.

This hurts. Im so sorry. I have a million things to say....but all that seems to matter is that she was THE BEST...to us, she was a teacher, a mentor, a friend...and so much more. Her love for family, friends and teaching...just to name a few things...was immeasurable. I am a better person just for knowing her. She was a piece of Gods best work. My most sincere prayers for the family. 

I love you my sweet sister and will be missed forever in my heart! Take care of the ranch up there until we meet again I love you!!

I was privileged to teach with Linda at Riley School.  She was passionate about literature and loved her students beyond words.  She was a kind and considerate person to everyone on staff. She entertained us in the lunchroom with her funny stories which were never negative about anyone. One of a kind

This is beyond sad...Linda was so full of life.  Linda & I teamed at Henry Clay elementary.  Her spirit kept us all moving.  We lived together for a short time with her cat, Obie...so many wonderful memories...
She was so devoted to her family and her students.  She will be greatly missed.

What a shock. I remember Linda always being so vivacious at Clay School and Taylor School.She loved her students.She made a difference.

Ort Family,

I was saddened to hear of the passing of your wife and mother. She was one of the most energetic and passionate women I knew when I first began teaching at Riley ten years ago. She was always there to listen and offer advice as I started my teaching career. I loved chatting with her at the end of the day or during my prep time. She always had stories about her family, students or other things she was passionate about. I am truly glad that I was able to meet and work with Linda if only for a short time before she retired. Remember all of the good times and happy memories you have with her. My deepest sympathies and prayers for comfort as you grieve her loss and celebrate her life.

Linda left this world a better place.  She was a great teacher and all her students will remember all the wonderful thing she did for them.  She was a caring person and was a joy to teach with.  Family and friends will remember all the wonderful things she did and she will remain in our hearts forever.
