As a child Ken spent several years with his grandparents in Ontario before the family settled in Port Huron where his father owned and operated CJ Supermarkets. During school Ken could often be found working for his father in the store.
Later in life Ken worked for Mueller Brass and as CFO for ITT. Along with his wife, Nancy, he also owned his own construction company for a time.
Ken was devoted to his family. While raising his family in Port Huron he coached several various hockey teams and encouraged his sons to play the game. After his sons were grown, he could always be found at his grandson Jack's gymnastic and hockey games and practices, often giving the players Jolly Ranchers once practice was over.
When not doting over his family Ken was an avid golfer and boater. He especially enjoyed the races from Port Huron to Mackinaw. He also enjoyed bowling and building engines for his cars, particularly the Hot Rods and Corvettes. Ken was also a former member of the Elks Lodge.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Nancy, with whom he celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage with in March; his beloved children Douglas (Lynn) and Christopher (Donna); cherished grandson Jack; dear siblings Cara Lynn (George) Dougherty and Charles and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Ken is preceded in death by his precious son Steven, brothers David and Thomas and his parents.
Ken's family will receive friends on Wednesday July 11 from 4-9 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (just east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
