John Thomas Miller was born on June 14, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Earl and Mary Jane Miller. He peacefully passed away on July 3, 2024, at the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of Mary P. Miller and loving father of Judy Marie Huggins (Bill), Christine Lynn Bertke (Allen), Thomas John Miller (Lauren), Richard Lee Miller (Tracey), Aric Michael Miller, John F. Pratt (Juno), and Sarah Pratt Lin (Jim). John was a cherished grandfather to Aaron Huggins (Ali), Noah Huggins, Riley Huggins, Lauren Bertke, Jenna Speelman (Adrian), Emily Bertke, Alana Bertke, Kendyll Miller, Quinn Miller, Owen Miller, Amelia Smith, Grant Lin, Evan Lin, and Annessa Li Pratt.
John graduated from St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, Long Island, NY. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Finance from the University of Dayton and later pursued further education at Long Island University, where he earned a Post MBA.
John was a parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville. John loved and was a faithful fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He loved playing cards and board games with family and friends. In recent years, he became an avid maker of jigsaw puzzles. He loved his children and grandchildren and often made them laugh with his funny antics and goofy sayings.
Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, located at 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM led by Deacon Ralph Luddecke.
A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11 AM (in state at 10:30 AM) at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170.
John Thomas Miller will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His warmth, laughter, and love for life leave an enduring legacy in the hearts of those he touched.
