Proud great-uncle to Sophia, Caroline, Benjamin, Nathan, Anna, Daniel, Christopher, Cathryn, Robert, Rosa, and Laurence. Dear brother in law to Sam Burch and Doris Calwell. John is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

A true adventurer at heart, John had a zest for travel that took him to far-flung corners of the globe. Whether exploring new cultures or simply soaking in the beauty of nature, he embraced every opportunity to broaden his horizons and enrich his life.
John's ties to Queen's University Belfast in Ireland were deep and meaningful. His dedication to education and his desire to make a difference led him to play a pivotal role in establishing a scholarship fund that continues to support aspiring students to this day. His commitment to empowering others through education was a testament to his belief in the transformative power of knowledge.
At his cherished cottage, John found solace in the tranquil beauty of the outdoors. John is preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Margaret Calwell and his siblings Margaret Burch and William Calwell.
