James F. Walker, age 97, of Redford, Michigan passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Loving father of Jim (Brenda), Susan (Don) Kumpula, and Mike. Beloved grandpa of Jim, Jenny, Jeffrey, Kelly, Elizabeth, and Michael. Proud great-grandpa of Drake, Regan, Kendall, Audrey, Spencer, Kalevi, Niklas, Addison, Kenzie, Maeve and sister Jean.
James was preceded in passing by dear wife of 66 years, Virginia, brother Bill, and sisters Fran, Dorothy, and Pat.
He was a Medic in the US Army 77th Division in the South Pacific during WW II and then a MP in occupied Japan.
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, April 4, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Friends and family will continue to gather Friday, April 5, at 9:00am, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00am.
James will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery with Virginia. A committal service with military honors will be held Monday, April 8, at 9:00am.
