Harold Francis Stevens, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, at the remarkable age of 98. Born on April 13, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, Harold was the cherished son of Herbert and Mabel Stevens.
Harold was a proud Marine veteran who served during World War II, embodying the courage and dedication that defined his generation. Following his military service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career at Ford Motor Company, where he contributed his skills and passion for many years.
At the age of 81, Harold found love again when he married Mavis, his devoted partner of 17 years. They had a special bond in their shared faith, and together, they created a beautiful life filled with adventure, laughter, and cherished memories.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Barbara Stevens, and his granddaughter, Nicole Eschberger. Harold's family also includes numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Harold's interests extended far beyond his career and family. He had a passion for military history, astronomy and space, often sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with those around him. An adventurous spirit, he pursued his dream of flying and earned his pilot’s license, culminating in a thrilling first solo flight that he relished.
Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor, and six siblings: Mabel, William, Margaret, Felicity, AnneMarie, and Victor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
