George "Al" Allen Gord

George Allen (Al) Gord, age 79 of Westland, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022. During his life, Al was known for having a dry, witty sense of humor. He was a proud alumnus of Eastern Michigan University and loved the Detroit Tigers.

During his younger years, he and his beloved wife Susan enjoyed entertaining with many pool parties every summer. He and Susan were fortunate to travel most of the United States and escaped to Europe a couple of times.

Al spent his career at Ford Motor Company working as an Industrial Engineer. Overall, he will be remembered as a generous spirit who loved his family. Al is survived by wife Susan of 54 years, son Christopher, two grandchildren Camila and Mateo, and his German exchange son, Markus.

He was predeceased by his sisters Betty, Marge, and Dorothy.

A visitation for Al will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home the following day, Thursday, July 7, 2022, following an in-state period starting at 10:30 AM.
