George was my favorite teacher and exceptional leader. His friendliness, openness and humor were mixed with experience, knowledge and brilliant mind. I will be missing him, but memories about him will stay in my heart.

George was one of my most challenging customers -- continuously looking for improvements in workstation performance and stability.  However, he did so in a kind and humorous manner, so I always felt that I was dealing with a friend.  His intellect and his wit are missed.

I worked with George for 28 years at Ford Motor Company.  He was enthusiastic about his work and a truely nice person. I enjoyed his wit.  My sincerest condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to George's family. May God rest his soul in peace and give you strength to bear this loss. He was always willing to help and fun to work with. He taught me a lot on simulation technologies at Ford and will be missed.

George was one of the reasons that Light Truck Design Analysis was one of the best places to work at Ford.  George was a not only a great engineer but a great teacher as well.  The great cars and trucks produced by Ford today are the direct result of his contributions to CAE and other analytical methods.  Beyond that, you were always glad to run into George - his smile and sharp wit added a little sparkle to your day.  My condolences to his family and friends.

George was a customer/acquaintance of mine during the time I was at MSC (1991-97). I recall his no-nonsense dedication to his craft as an experienced simulation engineer at Ford. I particularly recall being able to reward him and his family, in a small way, by taking them to one of the World Cup soccer matches in Orlando during the 1994 MSC Users Conference there. My deepest condolences to the Campbell family, some of whom I met in Orlando.

While working as a salesman for a few CAE software vendors to Ford Motor Company I had the pleasure of interacting with George over the course of 20+ years. George was a great engineer and had a wonderful way of using his wit and humor to maintain a healthy balance in our customer/vendor relationship. I very much enjoyed getting to know George on a personal level to be able to discover what wonderful and caring family man he was. George simply had a heart of gold. He will be missed.

It was a sad news to hear a friend and a mentor to leave us so soon.  George was an excellent engineer who helped anyone asked to learn the art of computational mechanics.  He will be missed greatly by our small community.

George was a delight to talk with.  We had many meetings, informal and formal, and in all of them he was always the gentleman.  He was a really smart guy but didn't try to overwhelm you with his knowledge.  He was resilient and tireless in working on improving Ford and the Engineering area.  I will miss his smile and his sense of humor.

George was a great guy and an excellent engineer. And it was a pleasure to work with him. My condolences to his family.

George was a very intelligent engineer, who was very likable and easy to work with.  He had a great sense of humor and had a large collection of stories that had lessons, so you could easily remember the lesson. My prayers and deepest sympathy go to his family.

I am honored to have known George throughout the years. He had the unique ability to translate the most complex matters into an understandable form when we first met at Ford.  He had a love of family that was obvious at each Indian Guide campout he attended and he could bring unending laughter to those around him in discussing the simplest of world events while at the swim club.  He will be missed by all of us who were given the opportunity to know him. May he look down upon us and smile.

George Campbell was one of the key pioneers who lead the transformation of Ford Engineering  to the digital era.  He was highly intelligent and he used this intelligence to mentor numerous engineers in a very patient and understandable fashion.  He also had unique insights to life that were both amusing and profound.  He was universally liked by his co-workers and will be deeply missed.

George was one of my closest colleagues and friends at Ford Mortor Company during my 16 years working there. He was not only very helpful in work, he was always willing to provide help in my career. George will be remembered.

I had the pleasure of being on his award winning CAE team in 1986. Prayers to his family.

What wonderful guy to work with.  He was the smartest person I ever knew.  I will miss him really.

George was a good friend and a "Beacon to us ALL" regarding the emerging and enveloping computer technology revolution. He served as a welcoming and witty source of knowledge and guidance....THANK YOU , George. ...and once he had us "trained" regarding computer system  quirks- he remained a friendly,witty companion..THANKS FOR THAT TOO, George.

George was not only a close friend,but one of the most kind and gentle person in the world.  He had a kind word for everyone, including those that were less than kind to him.  His sense of humor was wonderful.  He was a joy to be around.  We always looked forward to his visits to Arizona.  He will be missed by so many people whose life he touched.

We loved George for his witt and generous spirit.  He was always surprising us with clever sayings and a different (funny) slant on the news and life.....he was a fountain of information!  We will miss his company.

George was a close friend of mine for over thirty years.   He was always willing to help anyone with anything and found humor in every situation.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
