Ellen Kandah, born May 13, 1938, in Ramallah, Palestine, to Wadeh and Alexandria Kandah, passed away on September 29, 2024. Ellen was a woman of unwavering faith, finding great joy and comfort in her church community. She loved fiercely, especially when it came to her grandchildren, always putting family at the heart of everything she did.
Known for her strong will, feisty spirit, and outspoken nature, Ellen was never one to shy away from expressing herself. Her warmth and love radiated through her passion for cooking, where she brought people together, she also had a love for word search puzzles.
Ellen’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her children: Grace (Greg) Harnos, Joseph (Cynthia) Kandah, Mary Ann Kandah, and John Kandah. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Gregory (Jennifer), Michael, Marc, Anthony, and Erik, and her three great-grandchildren: Molly, Benjamin, and Gabriel.
Ellen is now reunited with her parents, husband, Anthony, and her siblings Shukri, Nuha, and Samira, who preceded her in death.
A funeral visitation for Ellen will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A vigil will occur Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A funeral in state will occur Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Michael's Melkite Catholic Church, 585 N Mill St, Plymouth, MI 48170. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St Michael's Melkite Catholic Church, 585 N Mill St, Plymouth, MI 48170.
Ellen will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her love, strength, and faith will remain with us forever.
