Edwina Finny

Edwina was educated in the Detroit Public School System, graduating from Northwestern High School. She went on to receive her CDL License, where she was employed as a Detroit Public School bus driver. She loved her job transporting school children for many years. She was always recognized by adults who were her previous students.

Edwina was united with Ray M. Finny in October 1981 and four children were born from this union. Edwina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was called home on December 26, with her husband, daughters, and sons by her side at the residence they shared.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Ernest and Lucinda Paige, Willie M. and Louella Smith; father, Edward Smith, mother-in-law, Ruby L. Finny; uncle, Robert "fishman" Paige.

Edwina leaves to mourn: Mother, Ernestine Smith; husband, Ray Finny; two daughters, April and Alicia Finny; two sons, Rafael and Raymond Finny; two sisters, Jetta Smith and Linda Singer; five brothers, Brannon Foster, Corey, Ronnie, Darryl and John M. Smith; two brother-in-laws, Roy L. Finny and Gloyd Singer; sister-in-law, Cynthia Foster; three aunts, LaVerne Moore, Cheryl L. Miller and Charlene McNeal; three uncles, George and Dennis Paige, Anthony McNeal; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
