David M. Reichenbach, age 68, passed away on November 20, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen and loving son, Andrew; mother, Edna Reichenbach; siblings: Richard (Kathleen), Cynthia (Alan), Russel (Deborah); brother-in-law to Michael (Dawn), Terri (Kenn), Larry (Linda) and Dan (Lynne); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dear father, Melvin; in-laws Dorothy and Jim McKay, and dear nephew, Robert.
Dave enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends, deer hunting, golfing and stargazing. He was never a Boy Scout but became a "Boy Scout Dad" through Andy. They enjoyed camping, hiking, kayaking, cooking hobo dinners over an open fire and tent camping in below freezing temperatures. Dave could fix anything or build anything. Friends often called him MacGyver. Just give him a paperclip and a piece of tape and he was in business. He was an amazing friend, always kind and cheerful, loved to joke around, but could never remember a punch line.
Dave loved to travel. His first plane ride was to Disneyworld for his honeymoon with Kathleen. This opened the door to yearly travels throughout Michigan, Hawaii, California, St. Thomas, Seattle, Las Vegas and Phoenix, Arizona. His most recent trip with Kathleen was an Alaskan cruise in August 2019.
He went to Ferris State College to study Heavy Equipment and Diesel Mechanics. Dave worked for various companies as a mechanic including Ford Motor Company and Crown Lift Trucks. He was forced to retire in 2012 after his cancer diagnosis.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angela Hospice, Livonia, Michigan.
