Dear Alice Anne,  

I was so sad to hear of Art's passing.  I remember him fondly as a kind and loving and godly man with a gentle sense of humor.   

I pray for you, now nearly two months since his home going.  I pray for the present Presence of the God of all Comfort.

Looking forward to that glad reunion!

Dearest Alice:  Am keeping you and your special family in my thoughts and prayers.  Stopped by the desk today and learned that Art was not with us anymore.  Knowing you as we do Alice,  I know that Art was just like you - always kind, caring, and loving.  May God grant you and your family peace and comfort especially at this time. Dear Alice Anne,

I'm very sorry to read of Art's passing. Art and I go way back to high school. I remember he lived with his uncle a half block from Sault High as i did and i would often meet him walking to school, he carrying his cornet and me my clarinet. We'd always have a good chat the rest of the way. I seem to recall that his uncle had a woodworking area in his basement which impressed me greatly, table saws and all. Art may have mentioned our band leader Joe Deike, a wonderful guy, and the associated band trips to festivals, etc.

After graduation and during college or med school, we would occasionally get together. As i recall, he would spend summers in Canada at a camp. I seem to remember having dinner at your house in Sault, Ontario when you two were first dating and thinking to myself "What a lucky guy Art is to have you!" I suspect you felt the same about him.

The last time I saw Art was at our 57th or 58th high school reunion, the one we had early by a few years. I enjoyed a nice chat with him and may have met you then as well. I'll always remember Art as the genuinely nice guy that he was and I wish you the strength to deal with your great loss.

 Dearest Alice Ann,
 I am forever grateful for the two of you  and the powerful, godly influence of your lives first on Bob and then on me.   Bob adored you both and so highly  respected you.  Your marriage, your love for God, your leadership and service to the kingdom all these years ... what a godly example you have been to so many people!    And what a rich inheritance God has invited Art home to enjoy with Him forever!    Who could've known that Bob & Art would be buried on the same day three years apart?  Yet they are celebrating in joy unspeakable together right now, while we are grieving their loss here on earth.  I give testimony  to the steadfast, faithful, compassionate ever present help that the Lord has been to me as His widow ...  How much more am I confident concerning you that He will walk with you through this valley Alice Ann. Only He is sufficient for these things, but you will find your mourning can be turned to joy in His timing by His grace alone.   I would be honored to be with you in this painful time and place ... I'm so sorry for your loss ... Art was a beautiful man who loved you so very much!  We will all miss him with you!

Our hearts go out to Alice Anne, David and Nancy and their families at the loss of our very dear friend, Art. We greatly appreciate his life dedicated to the service of the Lord at Dunning Park. His passing was very nearly thirty six years to the day after he performed our wedding. We are truly grateful for his example of reaching out to welcome all comers to the family at DPBC.
