Ann "Nancy" Scully Rose, a devoted educator and cherished member of her community, passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on February 8, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Nancy was the beloved daughter of James and Janet Rose.
Throughout her life, Nancy radiated warmth and kindness, touching the lives of countless individuals. She was the beloved sister of James "Chip" Rose (Sharon), Cindy Rose Sherman (Rob), Stu Rose (Jean), Tim Rose (Joy), Rob Rose (Joan), Mary Rose Bonk (Pat), and Pete Rose (Teresa). Nancy held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Shannon, Ryan, Tim, Matthew, Erica, Joyce, John, Michael, Brittany, Kendall, Katelin, Cameron, Julianne, Carlton, and Mikayla. She was also a cherished great-aunt to seventeen nieces and nephews. Nancy's kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many special cousins and friends.
Nancy's faith was an integral part of her life, as she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Colette Church in Livonia. She pursued her passion for education, earning a Master's degree from Michigan State University. Nancy dedicated herself to teaching 1st and 2nd grade students for over four decades, from 1978 until her retirement in 2020. Her commitment to her students and her love for teaching were evident in everything she did.
Nancy had a thirst for knowledge and adventure, traveling often and even pursuing her Master's Degree while traveling abroad and internationally. In her leisure time, she found solace in gardening and cherished moments spent with her family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 5-8pm, with a Rosary service at 7pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home: 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10am (in state 9:30am) at St. Colette Church: 17600 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, if you are unable to attend the funeral mass, a live stream link will be provided below or you can join by searching St. Colette Church Facebook Page. Nancy will be laid to rest at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI.
