Andrew Somjak, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend was promoted to glory on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Andrew lived a life fully dedicated to his love of God and Family. His life, although painfully too short, was impactful beyond his years. He leaves behind his loving wife Aubrey and his precious children, Cordelia, Nathanael, Josiah, and Alina Joy.
Andrew was an incredibly joyful person in all circumstances. His foundation in life was Jesus Christ and Andrew’s love for God was easily seen. He focused on eternity, and this was reflected through a genuine love and devotion for the wellbeing of others. Andrew valued relationships above possessions, and he was lacking in pretense and malice. He spoke truth with compassion, he offered assistance without reservation, and he maintained an infectious, positive attitude. Andrew’s charisma drew people in. His sincere and gracious spirit led to many immediate and lasting friendships. Andrew’s best friend was his devoted wife, Aubrey. Together, they invested unconditional love into one another and into their precious children.
Andrew gave 100% to all he cherished. In addition to his family, Andrew’s passions included constant learning, golf, CrossFit and outdoor activities. He was always open to exploring new activities, with varying levels of success – swimming, not so much. Andrew viewed life as a constant adventure and he was committed to participating fully.
Andrew lived in Brighton, Michigan and worked in nutritional sales for the Garden of Life division of the Nestle Corporation. He was wholly committed to his profession of healthy living and was himself a dedicated practitioner of nutrition and exercise. His belief that better health leads to a better life helped him achieve success. His children affectionately called him the “Sugar Police”.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Beth Somjak, sisters Ashley Novak (Kyle) and Stephanie Somjak, in-laws Larkin and Elizabeth McKenzie, brothers-in-law Larkin and Taylor McKenzie, and grandparents Earl and JoAnne Sobeck. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also grieve his loss.
