

Amello (Fred) Fedrigo, age 94, of Livonia, Michigan passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 10, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Clelia Fedrigo, and his four siblings; Mary McGrath, Alex Fedrigo, Aldo Fedrigo, and Nancie Williams. Beloved husband of Shirley and stepfather to Nunzio Marino. Previous husband of the late Dora Lou Fedrigo, and father of Connie (Roger) Frayer, Lori (Vince) Toia, David (Pam) Fedrigo, Danny Fedrigo, and Jim (Tami) Fedrigo. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Fred was born in Detroit, Michigan where he grew up there with his four siblings. Early on in high school, he started working for Sun Cleanser which was started by his father, Alexander, in 1926. Fred took a break from the company when he served three years in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War in his early twenties. Upon returning home, he continued to work for SUN® and became extremely successful. With his knowledge and expertise, and the help of his brother, Alex, they expanded SUN® Pool Products across the United States.
In 1985, Fred retired and was affectionately named as the “Grand Father” of the SUN® brand. During his retired years, he loved spending time with his large and continuously expanding family. The family became known as “Team Fred” with him starting the lineup as #1. Team Fred currently has nearly 50 members, and will continue to live on in his honor.
Fred was an inspirational person who touched many people’s lives. We are blessed to have had him on this earth for 94 years. His last moments were surrounded with love, laughter, and reminiscence from his family in the comfort of his home. We invite all who knew Fred and the Fedrigo family to join us in a celebration of his life.
A visitation for Fred will be held Monday, July 15, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. An in state will occur Tuesday, July 16, at 11:00 am at St Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, Michigan 48150, followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am. He will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park, where he will be receiving military honors.
