Alma Lucile Storrie was born in Eldorado, IL in 1923 to Earl Gratton Ramsey and Janie Marie Ramsey. She had one older sister, Gratton Louise Beaman. Alma met her future husband, John “Jack” Storrie, at Highland Park Baptist Church while they were still attending high school. During World War II, she worked for Michigan Bell. Alma and John married in May, 1946 after he returned from serving in Europe. They were together for 58 years until his passing.
Though her primary focus was on homemaking, she also worked in food services for Southfield Public Schools long enough to retire -- twice! Alma lived a life of faith and was active in her church -– Grace Baptist and then Faith Bible -- throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter Beth (Scott) Connell and children Kim Connell and Kristi (Joe) Biffar; daughter Carol (Dennis) McMahan and children Chris McMahan and Emily McMahan; her son Paul Storrie; her granddaughters Meghan (Kyle) Dollar, Lindsay Storrie, and their mother Andrea Storrie. Alma also had had three great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Biffar, Logan Biffar, and Jack Dollar.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her eldest son Jack, and her granddaughter Shannon.
She was a warm light to every person she encountered, brightening and bettering their lives.
