William P. Reimer, 75, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016, with his loving family by his side in Livingston, NJ. Born in Long Branch, NJ, Bill lived in East Orange for many years before moving to Livingston where he resided for 47 years. Bill attended Cornell University and the Newark College of Engineering (NJIT). He became a Professional Engineer and was proud to be the fourth generation City Engineer for the City of East Orange. After retiring from the City of East Orange after 26 years of service, Bill then worked for Mazzocchi Wrecking Company as the Chief Engineer. He was at ground zero the day after the 9/11 attacks and spent much time there overseeing the removal work and formulating techniques unheard of in Manhattan previously.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith. He is also survived by his loving children Lynne R. Tamburrino (Jeffrey), William D. (Lisa Vignuolo), and George W. (Bonnie). He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren Andrew, Emily, Hannah, Liam, Violet, and Scarlet.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 1-3 & 5-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Memorial service will be held at 7:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be made to the Fairview Lake and Water Conservation Foundation, 119 James Drive, Ringwood, NJ 07456, or to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, 100 Madison Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960.
