Vita Antonelli, 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Livingston, NJ. Born in Newark, Vita resided in East Hanover for the past 51 years where her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known to make platters of cookies for all of her family’s special occasions, and will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to enjoy them. Vita was a long time member of the Livingston Rotary, where she held many offices, and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. She worked for many years for the Llewellyn and Edison Savings Bank, retiring as the Assistant Vice President. Vita was a member of the East Hanover Senior Citizens Organization, and a long-time parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover.
Vita was predeceased by her beloved husband Salvatore, Jr. She is survived by her loving children Salvatore III and his wife Patricia and Diane Hammond and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren Peter Antonelli, Grace Antonelli, Kelly Hammond, and Caitlin Hammond, her brother Robert Carlucci and his wife Dorothy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral mass will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover on Monday, July 27 at 11AM, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vita’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
