Thomas F. Fasulo, DC, of Cedar Grove, formerly of Bloomfield, died Friday, February 5, 2010 in the St. Barnabus Medical Center in Livingston. He was 71 years old.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1to 4 pm and 7 to9 pm at the LaMoncia Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston.Born in Newark, Dr. Fasulo lived most of his life in Bloomfield, before recently moving to Cedar Grove. He attended Providence College in Rhode Island and transferred to Seton Hall University where he graduated in 1960 with a B.A. in Psychology. He furthered his education at the Columbia Institute of Chiropractic earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1965. He was licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners in 1966. He was also licensed by the State of Florida in 1995.A well respected chiropractor, Dr. Fasulo started his practice in Bloomfield in 1966 and remained there for many many years. His talent and expertise was recognized through his numerous appointments and memberships within the State of New Jersey. From 1974 to 1978, he served on the Bloomfield Board of Health, acting as Board President from 1976-1977. He was the Official Chiropractor for the Township of Bloomfield, the first Civil Service appointment made in January 1979. He was also appointed by Governor Thomas Kane to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council from 1988-1991.Dr. Fasulo was a member of the Essex County Country Club, the New York Chiropractic College Alumni Association and a Charter member of the National Association of Disability Evaluating Physicians. He was a former consultant for Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, a consultant for numerous insurance companies in the realm of Independent Chiropractic Examinations and Peer Review, and also served as an Expert Witness for the Department of Law and Public Safety, State of NJ, Division of Law for the Attorney General’s Office. His accomplishments earned him the Man of the Year Award from the John I Crecco Foundation.He was the beloved husband of Camille Fasulo (nee Zarro), loving father of Addie Fasulo, Thomas F. Fasulo, Jr., and his wife Danielle, and the late Susan C. Fasulo, dear brother of Robert Fasulo, Alfred Fasulo, and Mrs. Jane Meston, cherished grandfather of Mike Persky, Matthew Lazarowitz, Olivia Fasulo, and Luke Fasulo, and devoted son of the late Margaret and Angelo Fasulo.In lieu of flowers The Fasulo family request that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 14 Penn Plaza, Suite 1615, New York, NY 10122.
