Tere was born on April 4, 1924 to the late Honorable Robert D. Grosman and Rosie Rich Grosman. Tere, a graduate of the Tobe Coburn School of Fashion, was Fashion Editor at The Star Ledger for 30 years. She was the recipient of the Frany Fashion Reporting of New York award, 1974, Israel Fashion medal, 1975, Fur Council National Retail Merchants Association awards, Emba Mink Breeders awards and a Lifetime Achievement award from her alma mater, Tobe Coburn. Tere was a Member of the National Federation of Press Women, and the Newswomen's Club (New York).
Tere was a style leader, avid cook, gardening enthusiast and cat rescuer and fancier with a great sense of humor.
Survivors include children Rory Rogel, and Richard Rogel, sisters Ruth Winter and Jeanne Weisman, stepchildren Ann and Lenny Robinowitz, and Judy Greendorfer, grandchildren Mollye Rogel, Beth Wanger, Heidi Benedict, Joel Wanger and Eric Wanger. She was predeceased by her son, Todd Rogel and her husband, Sidney Greendorfer.
There will be a graveside service at the B’nai Jeshurun cemetery in Elizabeth. Due to necessary restrictions regarding the coronavirus, a memorial service and party will be held later in the spring or early summer.
