Steven Raphael Cohen passed away suddenly of cardiac arrest on April 14th at his home in Eugene, Oregon. He was 62. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 22nd at 1:00PM at the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston, NJ.
Steven graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield and attended the Western Carolina Campus of the University of North Carolina and South Dakota State University.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, tending to his grounds and cultivating his large organic vegetable garden, the abundance of which he generously shared with his neighbors. He also loved music, especially “The Grateful Dead”. A true “Deadhead”.
He is survived by his son, Brody Foster Cohen, his Parents Vivienne and Robert Cohen, his sisters Rabbi Jody Cohen Gavarian (Jimmy), and Amy Rosenberg (Marc).
He is also survived by nephews Edward Blank (Debra), Ami Gavarian (Lauren and daughter Madison) niece Blake Rosenberg, and nephews Alex, Drew, and Will Rosenberg.
