Stanley Bryla, 97, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2019 in Livingston, NJ. Born in Hamlin, Virginia, Stanley was a longtime resident of Orange, NJ. He was a proud veteran of the Marine Corp, serving during WWII on Bougainville Island, South Pacific Asia. He was employed for many years as a policeman/detective for the City of Orange. He was also the Past Commander of the VFW Post 5445, East Orange, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion 190.
Stanley was predeceased by his brother, Carroll. He is survived by his sisters, Eve Grabowski, Kathryn Kling (Frank), and Agnes Lee, his niece Barbara Lee, along with other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4 from 2-6PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral will be held on Monday, August 5 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Valley Church, Orange, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley’s name may be made to any VFW or American Legion of your choice.
