Shirley Kaplowitz

Shirley Kaplowitz 89, of Somerset Run, Somerset, NJ formerly of Linden, NJ; and Boca Raton and Dunnellon Florida passed away peacefully on January 27th 2024.

Shirley was a beloved Art Teacher at Linden High School for most of her career. She also taught art, calligraphy and scrapbooking classes. Shirley proudly held a BFA Fine Arts from Kean University.

In her passing as in her life, she was surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends both near and far. Shirley was lucky enough to spend over 50 years with the love of her life, Seymour who was the Principal of Linden High School. Their 50 plus year marriage was a love story that inspired her children, her grandchildren and all that knew her. Shirley leaves behind three children, Alisse Palitz and her husband Dave, Laurie Stanicki and her husband Bob and Glenn Kaplowitz and his wife, Michele as well as six grandchildren, Wayne Palitz and his wife Bibi, Briana Palitz and her mate, Chris Sylvester, Lynsey Stanicki, Brooke Stanicki and her fiancé Brandon Wolfe, Hannah Stanicki and Sean Kaplowitz.

Please join our family in celebrating Shirley’s life on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. Following the celebration will be a burial at Beth David Cemetery, 731 Boulevard, Kenilworth, NJ 07033.
