Rosalind Friedman, 91, of Hillsborough, formerly of West Orange, Verona and Thornton, PA passed away at RWJ Somerset Medical Center in Somerville on Fri., Jan. 19, 2024. Born in Newark, NJ, she worked for many years in health care at Newark Beth Israel, Clara Maas Medical Center, and various medical practices. After retiring, Roz volunteered at Somerset Medical Center and Riddle Hospital in Pennsylvania. Roz was an EMT with the West Orange First Aid Squad for many years. She was a past president of the West Orange PTA and B’Nai B’Brith. Roz was a devoted fan of the NY Giants (who often disappointed her). In her youth, Roz was an avid bowler and tennis player. Rosalind was the loving mother of Gary Friedman (Susan) and Amy Friedman, cherished grandmother (“Grammy”) of Sam, Manny and Leah Fischer (Jacob), devoted great-grandmother (“GG”) of Ellie and Noah Fischer. Roz was predeceased by a brother, Henry Klinger and her grandson Manny (Emanuel) Friedman. Roz also was a devoted aunt (“Tonto”) to David and Mindy Klinger, Renee (Klinger) and Perry Godley, and great-aunt to Aaron, Rebecca and Cait and their families.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ with burial to follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, NJ.
