Richard Michael Chaiken

3/8/32- 12/8/22

Devoted, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather died peacefully at home. He was 90.

Born in Newark NJ he attended Hillside High School and Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

He was a member of the Appraisal Institute holding the MAI and the SRA designations, a member of the Counselors of Real Estate holding the CRE designation and a member of the FRICS: Fellow, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

He was a Certified General Appraiser in the State of NJ. He had some of the most significant NJ Tax Court decisions in the state. He leaves behind his adored daughter Amy Wolffe (Elliott), his sister Dolores Zuber, his amazing grandchildren, Erica Dunn (Adam), Maxwell Izenberg, and four precious great grandchildren, Abigail and Rory Goldman and Leo and Charlie Dunn. He was pre-deceased by the love of his life Marilyn, his parents Rose and Dave, his beloved son Mark and his most cherished granddaughter Chelsey Blair Goldman.

A funeral service for Richard will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey 07039. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 12:30 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Woodbridge, New Jersey.
