Philip R. White, known as Bob to family and friends died November 9, 2023 at 99 years old. He was a metallurgical engineer at Bell Laboratories and was awarded a Master of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Columbia University in 1949.
His wife, Frances Scher White, predeceased him and together they enjoyed 72 years of museums, travel, golf, family and friends, winetasting, lapidary, opera, reading together and outdoor activities at their vacation home on Mashpee Lake, MA. He loved nature and could grow just about anything from seed. He took great pleasure in gardening and bird watching.
Bob led by example; he was extremely intelligent, curious, kind, and very family oriented with both a subtle wit and superb memory - all of which he is lovingly remembered for.
He leaves a daughter, Barbara R White, a physician of-osteopathic medicine, a son Andrew E White, a mechanical engineer, and a grandson, Lucas C White.
