She was born in New London, CT, resided in Newark and Springfield
before settling in Scotch Plains. She was a social director at 3 swim clubs
and most notably taught music at East Side High School for more than 40 years
before retiring in 1993. For the last 25 years she worked in her son's catering
business.
She was the beloved wife of the late Alvin Jay, loving mother of Lawrence (and devoted second son Alden Ganotan), Dr. Gary and the late Jeffrey and Robert Jay and the grandmother of Samantha,
Adam and Evan Jay.
