Matt Friedman was a very good man with a ready smile that quickly brightened his green eyes. He loved fully and was much-loved by family and friends. Matt made life-long friends everywhere he went: Livingston High School, as swim team co-captain, at Rutgers University where he majored in English and Statistics, working at Marvel and Scholastic, Temple and Church, and on many NJ Transit buses.
In addition to being survived by his extensive comic book collection, he will be much missed by his devoted wife, Laura, their children Lilly and Aaron, his parents, Norm and Gloria Friedman, his sister, Laurie Harelick (Matthew), his parents-in-law Kass Freeman (Bill) and David Morin (Pat), his sister-in-law, Jen Schlegel, and his aunts, uncles, niece, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30AM at Temple Emanu-El 756 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ. Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston, NJ.
