Mary was born on October 11, 1922 to Mary and Anton Svetec of Newark, NJ. In 1946 she married William Lynch, and in 1950 Mary and William moved to Livingston where they raised their six children. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary greatly enjoyed sewing and baking tasty Hungarian treats for her family and friends. Mary had a devout Catholic faith, and she was a member of Saint Philomena parish for sixty nine years. Mary made many friends while supporting the parish in numerous ways, including Girl Scout troop leader and president of the Rosary Alter Society. Mary was also a Eucharistic minister at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Mary was predeceased by her husband William and her sister Irene Brine. She leaves behind her loving family: children Carol, Marilyn Fisher and her husband Karl, William, Donald, John, and James; granddaughter Brittany and her husband Joshua; great grandson August James; sisters-in-law Bernice Mitschele, Dolores Lynch, and Patricia Krezel; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ, on Tuesday, December 3, from 3 to 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Philomena Church, 386 South Livingston Ave., Livingston, NJ, on Wednesday, December 4, at 10 am, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saint Philomena Sharing Office or the Livingston First Aid Squad would be greatly appreciated.
