Joseph J. Russoniello

Joseph J. Russoniello, age 84, of West Orange, NJ, passed away on Sunday April 28, 2013, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church 44 Benvenue Avenue West Orange, NJ, on Friday May 3, 2013 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ; on Thursday May 2, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mr. Russoniello was a teacher, teaching in various schools in the Westfield School System for 35 years before his retirement in 1994. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University S. Orange, NJ, with a B.S. in Business and later received his Master in Education from Kean University in Union, NJ. He served his country proudly in the U.S Army during the Korean War. A devout catholic, he was a daily communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, where he was active in various organizations, as a member of the RCIA, the Choir, he also taught CCD and for many years was the coordinator of the St. Joseph’s Day activities. Joseph was the devoted father of Annemarie, Sandra R., Michael F., and Miriam S. Russoniello and the late Joseph A. and Alexander J. Russoniello. Loving grandfather of Michael A. Zocco. Dear brother of Lena Russo and the late Vito, Anthony, and Peter Russoniello and Mary Capista and longtime companion of Cynthia MacGonagle.
