Joseph Michael Brown Jr.

Joseph Michael Brown, Jr., 91, of Neptune and formerly of Livingston, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Born September 12, 1932 in Orange, NJ to the late Joseph Sr. and Mabel Brown (Coonan), Joseph graduated from Orange High School. He was a proud veteran of the US. Army, having served in the Korean War. He later became a brick layer, then proudly served as a corrections officer for many years for the Essex County Department of Corrections in West Caldwell. He was a Life Member of the Local PBA No. 157, as well as a member of the Livingston American Legion Post 201 and the Livingston VFW Post 2856. Joseph later worked for Macy’s as the Assistant Manager of Security.

Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eve (Petrucelli), and his dear daughter Cynthia McGrath. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Kathleen Funk and her husband Ronnie, his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Joey and his wife, Jessica, Kellie, and Stefan, and his adoring great-grandchildren Madellyn, Mikey, Michael, Charlotte, and Cynthia. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Howard McGrath.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, from 4-8pm at the LaMonica Memorial Home, Livingston. Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, July 18 at 10am at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
