John Dowd

The son of the late Thomas R. and Catherine Dowd, John grew up in Orange, New Jersey before spending most of his life in West Orange. He was a long standing member of Local 68 Operating Engineers Union working for 33 years. An avid gardener who loved traveling, John was an active member of the Giblin Association who proudly promoted and celebrated his Irish heritage.

John is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Antonella, his siblings Michael Dowd of West Orange, Eugene Dowd and his wife Dawn of Palm Coast, FL , Mary Sullivan and her husband Bill of Wall Twp, and Rita Murray and her husband Niall of Cavan, Ireland, along with many loving nieces and nephews and the entire Berlangieri family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16 from 4-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, October 17 at 11:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover, followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
