Joan Weisberg Jay, 82, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. Born in Newark, Joan was raised in South Orange before moving to Livingston 56 years ago. She attended the University of Cincinnati, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Kean University and then her Master’s in Education from Montclair State University. She worked as an ESL teacher in East Orange and Rockaway and completed her career in the Livingston School System for over 30 years.
Joan was the beloved wife of Steven Jay for 61 years, loving mother of Larry Jay (Robyn) and Wendy Steiner (Michael), devoted grandmother of Zachary, Ashley, Sammy, Adam, and Rachel, cherished sister of Susan Rinsky (Larry) and Liz Kupperman (Ken), and sister-in-law of Lois and Joel Doner.
