Jay Gold, a longtime resident of East Hanover, NJ, passed away on March 27, 2020 at the age of 77. Jay was born on July 25, 1942 in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Bernice and Isadore Gold. Jay served his country as part of the United States Army Reserve, and he received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Jay had a long, successful professional career, which began at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He later served as CFO for the UJA-Federation of New York and Daughters of Israel nursing home in West Orange, NJ.
For much of his professional career, Jay worked at the CBS television network where he ultimately served as the network’s Vice President of Finance and a chief financial leader of the CBS Broadcast Group (CBS Sports, CBS News, CBS Entertainment, CBS Owned TV Stations, CBS Radio and more).
Jay also served as President of Cedar Hill Country Club in Livingston, NJ, and he was a member of the Board of Head Start, a program administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides a variety of services to low income children and families.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Susan Gold, his cherished children, Eric Gold (Charlene), Michael Gold, Bradford Gold (Amanda), and Noah Gold (Andrea), and adoring grandchildren, Brian, Alexa, Delilah, Aviana, Samantha, Jack, and Madison Gold.
He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Judy Stomachin. A private service will take place for the immediate family on March 31, 2020. A formal memorial service will be scheduled in the future on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
