Howard L. Kaplus of South Orange passed away September 29 at the age of 83. Born in Newark NJ he was the son of the late Dr. Elliot Kaplus and Helen(Gersten) Kaplus. Howard attended the University of Pittsburgh and Rutgers Law School. He was a Captain in the US Army Judge Advocate General Corps. While in the Army he attended George Washington University and earned an LLM in Taxation. After the Army he returned to NJ and practiced law for over thirty years.
He was the beloved husband of his high school sweetheart, Sandy (Hess) Kaplus to whom he was married for 59 years. He is also survived by his children David (Laura) Debbi and his sister Nancy.
A graveside service for Howard will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Beth David Memorial Park, The Boulevard, Kenilworth, New Jersey 07033.
