Genevieve P. Browne (nee Bolan) “Pat”, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 27 surrounded by family. Born in Newark, she raised her family in Union while teaching at Christ the King and Holy Spirit schools. She transitioned to the South Orange-Maplewood School district in 1967 where she continued her tenure as educator. She completed her PhD in early childhood development while there and eventually retired as principal of Tuscan Elementary School in 2006. Pat was a dedicated sports fan and watched her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren through the years as well as her favorite college sports team, Notre Dame. She was a devout Catholic attended daily mass for much of her life, was a eucharistic minister and was dedicated CCD teacher. Genevieve was predeceased by her husbands Edward Michael Donahue and Robert Francis Browne, her son Edward Joseph Donahue and her sister Gail Furtado. She is survived by her daughters Patricia D’Agostini and her husband Arthur , Karen Donahue, her stepson William Browne and his wife Paula, granddaughter Katherine Campos and her husband Benjamin, grandson Brian D’Agostini as well as great-grandchildren Megan and Matthew Campos and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philomena Church 369 South Livingston Avenue Livingston, NJ on Saturday October 1, 2022 at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ on Friday September 30, 2022 from 4-8pm.
