Filomena J. “Fanny” Bottone, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Rockland Place in Wilmington, DE, where she lived for the past two years. She was born on February 23, 1925 in North Caldwell, NJ, the youngest of 13 children of Constantino & Filomena Matarazzo.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ. The funeral mass will be Friday, January 3, at 10 a.m., at St. Philomena's Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, NJ. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ.
Fanny grew up on the Matarazzo family farm in North Caldwell, then went on to marry a farmer from Livingston, where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed spending her winters in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Carl “Chic” Bottone, her parents and her twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Carmela (Jim) Randall; her grandchildren, Colleen (Dan) Cunningham, Shawn (Tiffany) Randall and Heather (Andrew) Barefoot; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas, Jake, Avery, Sydney, Reagan and Jackson; and cherished nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Philomena's Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, N.J.
